Who we are
NAAFI Break South Tyneside is a friendly, welcoming drop-in service for the Armed Forces community, whether you're currently serving, reservist, a veteran, a family member or a loved one. Based in South Shields, we meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month between 10am-12pm, offering a relaxed space to connect, chat with like-minded people and share experiences.
Our aim is to bring people together, combat isolation, and build a supportive network. We offer signposting to relevant services, highlight local events and opportunities, and most importantly - a warm brew and good conversation at no cost.
It’s a place to reconnect with familiar camaraderie, meet others who understand the unique experiences of military life, and support one another in adapting to civilian life. Whether you're looking for advice, friendship, or simply a space to feel understood, NAAFI Break is here for you.
No booking needed = just drop in and be part of something that understands the military community.
Patron of NAAFI Break South Tyneside is Lieutenant General Robin Brims who has served as our patron since 2020.
